The House of Hikmah is a fully voice-acted, narrative-driven 3D adventure game exploring grief, legacy and the search for answers after profound loss. Solve puzzles, encounter historical scholars of the Islamic Golden Age, and uncover timeless lessons in a beautifully imagined House of Wisdom.

My primary focus was bridging the gap between artistic vision and technical performance through high-fidelity hair physics and cloth simulations. Rather than simply resolving asset errors, I took an active role in troubleshooting complex technical issues for our clients, ensuring characters moved seamlessly without sacrificing visual quality. Simulation at this scale is inherently collaborative, so I worked closely with our rigging team to build the foundational setups that made these complex dynamics possible. The workflows below represent that shared commitment to technical precision and creative expression.
By stress-testing UE5’s hair physics simulation, I was able to demonstrate what the engine could do, which opened the door for a fantastic collaboration with Lunacy Studios. Once they sent over the initial character model, I partnered closely with our rigging team—guiding the technical setup while they worked their magic to bring the simulation to life.
Building out the UE5 cloth simulation setup was all about tailoring performance to the client’s vision. I handled the vertex painting to precisely map where the physics would take effect, then worked closely with the team to fine-tune the parameter values so the motion felt just right.
Main character model with working hair and cloth physics. accessories were also attached and is simulated real-time. I also did some animation retargeting using unreal’s default mannequin animation to showcase the simulation
